A recent post on the LinkedIn profile of Jeff Dixon, Senior Software Engineer at Electronic Arts, has revealed some unfortunate news. Apparently the creative minds behind EA’s “Boom Blox” series have been laid off for reasons unknown. What we do know is that this is bad news for the future of the Boom Blox series, and a big loss for the world of creative gaming.
The report from Jeff Dixon’s LinkedIn profile is as follows:
Jeff Dixon Has joined the ranks of the EALA departed. The Boom Blox team was laid off today.
The team was apparently working on a new title for Microsoft’s “Project Natal” when they received the news. Jeff says, “I strongly believe in the future of Natal.” The future of Project Natal is questionable, but we’re confident that the future for the Boom Blox team will be fine. Creative minds are always in high demand.
